It’s the time of year – guacamole, salsa, cerveza, and tacos all become part of a fun Mexican celebration! However, no Cinco de Mayo party is complete without margaritas!! We searched for the 5 of the most unique margaritas for your Cinco de Mayo party…I wish we could have taste tested them all! Who says you can’t mix Margs and Game of Thrones this Sunday!

Blackberry Lime Margaritas

Ingredients

Blackberry Simple Syrup
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup blackberries
Blackberry Lime Margaritas
  • 1/2 cup blackberry simple syrup
  • 4-5 drops lime essential oil (2 tablespoons lime juice may be substituted)
  • 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 8 ounces Grand Marnier liquor
  • 8 ounces good-quality tequila
  • Garnish: lime wedges, blackberries, salt rim

Instructions

  1. Combine the sugar, water, and blackberries in a small saucepan over medium heat. Simmer for 10 minutes, breaking the blackberries up with the back of a spoon. Strain the syrup through a mesh strainer into a bowl and set aside. Chill until you are ready to use.
  2. To a cocktail shaker, add the blackberry simple syrup, lime essential oil, lime juice, Grand Marnier and tequila. Shake vigorously and then pour into salt-rimmed glasses filled with ice. Garnish with lime wedges and blackberries.
  3. Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 1 mango, peeled and cubed (about 1-1/2 cups)
  • 3 tablespoons lime juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons tequila

Instructions

  1. Place the mango, lime juice, kosher salt, sugar, and tequila in a food processor. Blend until the mango is completely pureed.
  2. Pour the puree into 3 ice pop molds, or use paper cups with foil over the top, and poke ice pop sticks through the foil.
  3. Freeze for at least 2 hours, until solid.

Ingredients

  • 2 (50 milliliter) bottles Patrón tequila
  • 3 tablespoons lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • Kosher salt

Instructions

  1. Pour the tequila into a glass or cocktail shaker.
  2. Add the lime juice and sugar, and stir or shake until the sugar is dissolved.
  3. Wet the rims of the tequila bottles, and dip them in kosher salt.
  4. Use a funnel to pour the margarita shots back into the bottles (you will have 1 extra shot), and refrigerate until ready to serve.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups acai berry juice (recommended: R.W. Knudsen)
  • 2 cups margarita mix (recommended: Stirrings)
  • 1 cup tequila (recommended: Jose Cuervo)

Instructions

  1. In a pitcher, combine the acai berry juice, margarita mix and tequila.
  2. Mix
  3. Fill 4 margarita glasses with ice, pour in the margarita and serve.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 c. margarita salt
  • Lemon wedges, for rimming glasses
  • 2 c. frozen pineapple
  • 12 oz. gold tequila
  • 8 oz. triple sec
  • 4 oz. grenadine syrup
  • Fireball nips

Instructions

  1. In a small dish, pour salt. Rim glasses with lemon wedge then dip in salt. Pour 1-ounce grenadine into each glass.
  2. Combine frozen pineapple, tequila, triple sec, and lemon juice in a blender. Blend until smooth, then divide the mixture between glasses.
  3. Remove lids from mini Fireball bottles and flip into frozen drinks. Serve with straws.
