There’s an old Irish proverb that says: “There are only two kinds of people in the world, The Irish and those who wish they were.” Whether you’re Irish or pretend to be on March 17th, skip the pub shenanigans with Guinness and Irish car bombs, to host a St. Patty’s party at home!

Grab your shamrocks and lucky clovers, lassies as our fav cocktails are sure to make your friends green with envy. Clink your glasses and toast sláinte (pronounced “slaan-sha”) to these delicious drink recipes!

Top o’ the Morning to ya

If you want to take your brunch game to the next level, serve this delicious Spicy BLT Green Bloody Mary.

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups green tomatoes
  • 2 teaspoons red wine vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons of parsley
  • ½ cup English cucumber chunks
  • 2 limes, juiced
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 jalapeno, quartered
  • 2 teaspoons horseradish
  • ice
  • 8 ounces of vodka
  • Kosher salt to taste
  • For Garnish:
  • 4 romaine lettuce leaf hearts
  • 4 strips crispy bacon
  • cherry tomatoes
  • Lemon wedges

Instructions:

  1. Combine the green tomatoes, vinegar, parsley, cucumber chunks, lime juice, Worcestershire and jalapeno in the jar of a blender. Puree on high until very smooth.
  2. Stir in the horseradish and the vodka. Season to taste with kosher salt.
  3. Fill 4 glasses with ice cubes.
  4. Pour over ice and garnish with Romaine lettuce leaf hearts, and crispy strips of bacon and cherry tomatoes and lemon wedges.

They’re Magically Delicious

If your milkshake brings all the boys to the yard, imagine what adding some booze and lucky charms will do! Try these Boozy Lucky Charms Cereal Milkshakes. 

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups lucky charms marshmallows
  • 2 cups milk
  • 4 cups vanilla ice cream
  • 1/3 cup marshmallow vodka
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • a batch (or extra leftover) marshmallow frosting
  • extra cereal for topping

Instructions:

  1. Add the marshmallows to a food processor and blend until powdery. It’s okay if a few larger pieces remain.
  2. Add the milk to a large bowl and pour in the blended marshmallows.
  3. Stir to combine, then let sit at room temperature for 30 minutes.
  4. After 30 minutes, add the ice cream, marshmallow milk, vodka and vanilla extract to a blender. You can add extra cereal if you’d like!
  5. Blend until combined and pour into glasses.
  6. Top with frosting (or whipped cream!) and some extra marshmallows.

yield: serves 4 appropriately, 2 obnoxiously

May the luck of the Irish be with you

Press your luck by making this Lucky Leprechaun Rum Punch.

Ingredients:

  • 1 bunch fresh mint, stems removed plus more for garnish 
  • 2 pkg. Kool-Aid Lemon-Lime Flavor Unsweetened Drink Mix
  • 2 qt. (8 cups) pineapple juice, chilled
  • 1 bottle (2 L) carbonated lemon-lime soda, chilled
  • 1 bottle (750 ml) white rum, optional
  • 2 lemon, sliced
  • 3 lime, sliced

Instructions:

  1. Rim glasses: Place Lucky Charms marshmallows in a ziplock bag and crush into small pieces. Pour out onto a plate and set aside. Dip glasses in honey then in crushed marshmallows.
  2. Make the punch: Muddle mint with Kool-Aid in punch bowl or pitcher.
  3. Add pineapple juice; stir until mix is dissolved.
  4. Stir in soda, rum and fruit just before serving.
  5. To serve, pour punch carefully into rimmed glasses, add a few extra slices of citrus and a sprig of mint.

Irish eyes are smiling

Green apples are good for your eyes, right? Well then pucker up to this Green Apple Ginger Martini.

Ingredients: 

  • 4 oz/120ml ginger infused vodka (recipe below)
  • 4 oz/120ml fresh green apple lime juice (recipe below)
  • 1 Tablespoon/15ml maple or honey simple syrup (made by mixing equal parts of maple syrup or honey with filtered water until fully dissolved)
  • Crushed ice
For the Ginger Infused Vodka:
  • 1/2 cup/4oz//120ml quality vodka
  • 1 inch piece of fresh ginger, peeled and grated
For the Green Apple and Lime Juice:
  • 1 large tart green apple, cored and cut into slices (ex. granny smith)
  • ¼ cup/60ml filtered water
  • The juice of 1 large or 2 small limes
  • Apple slices for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

Make the Ginger Infused Vodka:
    1. Place the vodka in a re-sealable jar along with the grated ginger and seal. Shake gently and set aside for two or more hours until infused. (The longer you let the vodka sit with the ginger the stronger the flavor will be.) Strain pressing on solids to extract all the liquid and set aside.
    2. Place cocktail glasses in the freezer to chill.
Make the Green Apple and Lime Juice:
    1. Add the apple slices to a high-speed blender along with the water and lime juice and blend on high until smooth.
    2. Strain through a fine mesh strainer pressing on the pulp to get all of the juice and set aside. (If you have a juicer run the apple through and then add the freshly squeezed lime juice to it and omit the water.)
Make the Green Apple Ginger Martini:
  1. Add the apple and lime juice, the vodka and the maple syrup to a cocktail shaker. Fill the shaker halfway with ice and shake vigorously until the shaker turns frosty.
  2. Strain into the chilled glasses. Garnish with the reserved apple slices if desired.

Follow the Rainbow and find your pot o’ gold

By rainbow, I mean Jameson and by the pot o’ gold, I mean a jello shot. Try these Jameson Jello Shots!

Ingredients: 

Green Layer

  • 1/2 cup fresh mint leaves, packed
  • 1/2 cup + 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1/2 cup fresh lime juice
  • 2 envelopes unflavored gelatin
  • 1 cup Jameson Irish Whiskey
  • 20 drops of green dye

Clear Layer

  • 1/2 cup fresh mint leaves, packed
  • 1/2 cup + 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1/2 cup fresh lime juice
  • 2 envelopes unflavored gelatin
  • 1 cup Jameson Irish Whiskey
  • fresh additional mint leaves for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Place fresh mint leaves in a small dish. Sprinkle with 1 teaspoon of sugar. Using a muddle stick or a wooden spoon, press down on the leaves and twist. Repeat the action several times until the mint leaves release oil and smell minty. Set aside.
  2. Pour water and lime juice into a medium sauce pan. Sprinkle gelatin powder over the water; whisk to combine and let stand 5 minutes.
  3. Add 1/2 cup of sugar and the muddled mint leaves to the pan. Whisk to combine. Cook mixture over medium-high heat for 5 minutes, whisking gently until mixture is hot and the sugar and gelatin are dissolved. Remove from heat and allow to cool for 15 minutes.
  4. Strain the liquid to remove the mint leaves. Return liquid to the pan and add the whiskey. Add green dye.
  5. Spray silicone molds with cooking spray to allow easy release after gelatin is set. Wipe the excess spray from the molds. Carefully pour liquid into the molds.
  6. Repeat for clear (or other color) layer if you’re doing a clear and a green.
  7. Pour clear layer over the green layer after green layer has set, about 20 min.
  8. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, until fully set.
  9. Remove from molds and place on tray or small appetizer plates. Garnish with mint leaves or edible gold stars!

Kiss me, I’m Irish

Freshen your breath with minty green ice cream and spirits for this St. Patty’s Day Grasshopper Cocktail!

Ingredients: 

  • 5 Quart Plastic Bucket of Vanilla Ice Cream
  • 3 shots of Creme de Menthe liquor
  • 1 shot of Creme de Cacao liquor
  • 1 shot of Irish Whiskey (We prefer Jameson brand)

Instructions:

  1. Place all ingredients in a large bowl.
  2. Knead together by using two large ice cream paddles or spoons or use your stand mixer and knead using your bread hook attachment.
  3. Once well blended you can either serve or place back in the freezer to re-freeze.
  4. If desired, top with whipped cream.
  5. (Adjust liquor to taste. For a darker green and stronger mint flavor, add more Creme de Menthe)
