DIY Flower Chandelier for your Upcoming Baby Shower
A DIY (do it yourself) flower chandelier will add extra elegance to your upcoming baby shower. It can look amazing in pictures as a backdrop or hang in a dining area. This is a surprisingly simple craft that can be done on a budget.
To get started, buy the flowers of your choice in bulk from Costco (perk: offer free home delivery) or ProFlowers. Put flowers in buckets with water and flower food overnight to give them a chance to open up.
The following flowers are our recommendations for the best flowers that survive the longest and look the freshest: pink hyacinths, carnations, amaranthus, hydrangeas, baby’s breath, Craspedia, peonies, and dahlia buds. Keep in mind when selecting that flowers in season will hold up longer and better without water once your chandelier has been put together. Regardless of what you pick, these will give your shower sweet, innocent, and delicate vibes. Perfect for you, baby, and your guests!
Besides the pretty flowers, you’ll also need floral wire, floral tape, large wire wreath with a floral hoop, scissors, crimp tube, and fishing line. Add in some greenery and foliage to fill in between flowers for a fuller look.
There any many styles of flower chandeliers that you can choose from. Have your flowers dangling and flowing beautifully as seen here.
Going for more of a rustic vibe? Try making a chandelier where the flowers outline the hoop leaving the middle area open. This can add depth to your venue space making the ceilings look taller than they actually are. See an example below.
You can also go for a flower “cloud” where you outline the wreath with flowers, but also fill in the middle. This creates a very feminine and elegant touch. See these stunning chandeliers by Stacy Turner Creations.
Congratulations on your new bundle of joy and we hope you have an amazing time celebrating your new family at your baby shower!
